Top Navigation and Maps Apps in Guatemala: Q4 2024 Performance

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the top navigation and maps apps in Guatemala showed varied performance trends. Here's a closer look at the weekly downloads and active user statistics for these leading apps, based on Sensor Tower data.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a consistent rise in weekly downloads, reaching a peak of approximately 19.3K in mid-December. The app started the quarter with around 1.4M active users, experiencing fluctuations throughout the period, closing the quarter with about 1.2M users.

Google Maps maintained a steady download rate, peaking at 5.1K in late November. Its active user base grew from 3.1M to approximately 3.5M by mid-December, before settling at 3.3M at year’s end.

Camera Location: Geotag Photos experienced a significant boost in downloads, peaking at over 20K in the week before Christmas. Active users mirrored this trend, growing from a modest 234 in early October to 8.2K by late December.

Google Earth encountered fluctuations in downloads, reaching a high of 2.9K in the week of December 23. The app’s active user base began at around 17.9K, climbing to just over 28K in late October before experiencing a gradual decline to 18.5K at the quarter’s close.

Finally, Offline Maps, GPS, Speedometer showed a downward trend in downloads, starting at 3.7K and ending at 731. Active users decreased from 3K to 1.6K over the quarter.
